Frequently asked questions

Does the cost of the tour include the tastings?

Yes - all our tours include tastings in the ticket price. Our Foodie Discovery Walk is generally considered a pretty generous (albeit late-ish) lunch. You can always buy extra things along the way if you'd like.

Can my dietary requirements be accommodated?

We can accommodate most dietary requirements - including vegetarian, vegan and lactose free with no problems at all!

If you are gluten intolerant, we can work around that imperfectly, but please get in touch to find out more details. Unfortunately, coeliacs who require food that is 100% gluten free will miss out on our savoury stops. However, our Coffee Lovers Walk is gluten free!

Is the tour gluten free?

If you are gluten intolerant, we can work around that imperfectly, but please get in touch to find out more details. Unfortunately, coeliacs who require food that is 100% gluten free will miss out on our savoury stops. However, the Coffee Lovers Walk is gluten free!

Can we bring our kids?

Our tours aren’t really suitable for kids under 10 years old, unless they’re adventurous eaters. If you think they will have all the tastings, they are charged at full price. If you’d like to bring them along, but you don’t think they’ll eat, they are welcome to attend free of charge. But please let us know in advance so we can accommodate seating for them (our venues are small). You are welcome to buy them extra tastings along the way. All kids over 10 years old are charged at full price. If you have any questions, please get in contact.

What if we need to reschedule or cancel?

You may reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours in advance. Rescheduling or cancellation within 24 hours of the departure time will result in forfeit of tickets. This includes in the case of sudden illness, medical emergency, delayed/cancelled flights/trains and being stuck in traffic jams. You can read all our terms and conditions here.

If you have booked a private tour and paid a deposit, your deposit is non-refundable.

What if we’re running late?

Our guides use every method possible to meet our guests at the meeting place at the allocated time. We can wait up to 5 minutes after the scheduled start time for latecomers. After that time, and as a respect to the rest of the group, the guide will not check their phone and therefore cannot be contacted by latecomers. You can read all our terms and conditions here.

What happens if it rains?

Tours operate in most weather conditions. Tours do not operate in conditions of torrential rain. If the rain radar (http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR023.loop.shtml#skip) shows torrential rain (red bands of rain) approaching Melbourne City within 2 hours of the tour, every effort will be made to contact customers and reschedule or provide a refund. You can read all our terms and conditions here.

What happens if it’s too hot?

Tours operate in most weather conditions. Tours do not operate in extreme heat. In conditions at 39 degrees Celsius (102 F) or more, customers will be given the opportunity to reschedule or will be provided a refund. You can read all our terms and conditions here.

How long have you been operating walking food tours of Melbourne?

We started operating tours in 2012. We operate 6 days per week, excluding Sundays and public holidays.

How do you choose your venues?

It’s a magic combination of location, deliciousness, service and a nice story. Essentially, we’re looking for places that allow us to show you the best bits of Melbourne.

Can we book a private tour?

Yes! All our tours are available for private groups, pending availability. Please get in touch to discuss the details.

Can we customise the tour to our own requirements?

We always try our best to accommodate customisation, so that your group enjoys the tour. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements!
